Paul's musical journey began on the south coast of England, where he started out in a punk band with school friends, playing the only instrument left – the drums. His passion for music led him to master bass guitar, guitar and piano and move to London in pursuit of greater musical opportunities. Along the way, Paul toured and performed widely in a variety of bands including a stint in Japan with Retro-B52’s/Cramps inspired rockers The Stratacruisers playing for celebrated club wear fashion designer Michiko Koshino.
His big break came with a UK major label deal from Mercury Records for his rap-rock band
Fat which he co-founded with Daniel “Woody” Woodgate (Madness).
Fat went on to tour extensively across the UK and Europe, building a dedicated fan base. Following a line up change,
Fat secured a second deal, this time with A&M Records in the US where Paul collaborated with renowned producer Ric Wake
(Lou Reed, Mariah Carey, Destiny’s Child), releasing their self-titled debut album
Fat, and touring across the US, including appearances on MTV and national radio shows.
Following his time with Fat, Paul joined forces with the immensely talented vocalist and musician
Jamie Blake to form dark alt-rock duo,
Vixtrola. The pair moved to LA and signed with Geffen Records, where they worked with legendary producers Ric Ocasek of
The Cars and Danny Lohner and Charlie Clouser of
Nine Inch Nails on their album
End:User.
Transitioning from performance to production, Paul has been fortunate to have worked with several indie and major labels in the US and UK (Atlantic/DV8/679 Recordings/PureGroove) as well as noted producers and artists including iconic songwriter
Diane Warren and multi Grammy award winning producer,
Ric Wake.
Since leaving the US, Paul found a new passion in composing music for TV, Media and Film. His work has been featured across many genres from major Hollywood movies and TV dramas through to sports and entertainment shows and commercials. Now based on Spain, his more recent work includes the score for the multi-award-winning Spanish indie horror film
Slasher.
